Inspired by culture, community, and prosperity, Takla Nation proudly announces “Na beh ste”(sitting in line), a Takla Nation Young Adults Internship Program for a second year. As Takla rapidly grows and develops, we know that young adults are our future. While what we are building is for them, we cannot do it without them. This is why we have created a unique and innovative culturally immersed 11-month internship program- hotz’anah (the Takla way). The internship program aims to provide our young adults with an insight into various aspects of First Nations governance- Noh’ih at’tehn (our work here) and prepare them for a wide range of careers and professional training.

As an intern, you will learn:

  • governance and operations of the Nation and its related entities
  • interdependence and current developments with elected councils and traditional/hereditary leadership of Takla Nation
  • transferrable skills such as collaborative work planning, public speaking, presentation skills, research and report writing, critical thinking
  • career planning and professional development

Some exciting areas you could be working in include:

●        Lands and Stewardship ●        Education and Employment and Training
●        Economic Development ●        Communications and Social Media

 Wages and Other Benefits

●        $20/hr and a financial bonus after every successful project completion

  • Currently a (registered) Takla member
  • 19-30 years of age (30-35 years of age with particular considerations)
  • Not currently in high school or post-secondary education
  • Need to commit for the entire duration (June 2022- April 2023) of the program
  • Willing and able to work full-time, with some variable hours required
  • Willing and able to work in both Takla Landing and Prince George offices
  • Possessing a Class 7 or Class 5 Drivers license would be considered an asset (or willing to obtain)
